“hey, im outside” …

About

Growing up I was lucky enough to have found my girls that shaped me into the woman I am today. As I try to articulate my thoughts into words for this section of the website I can’t help but smile with the memories of us flashing in my mind. From crying over boys in school to crying about moving abroad and not being able to see each other everyday, all in a span of 20 years.

I left my vibrant life in Lahore (IYKYK) after getting married in October 2025, hugged my closest soulmates goodbye, and moved to the United Kingdom. The spontaneous sleepovers disappeared, and the “Baahir aajao” texts no longer lit up my phone, the people who knew me without explanation were now thousands of miles away. What I didn’t expect was how incredibly difficult it would be to make meaningful friends as an adult that too in a new country and for the first time in my life, I truly understood what loneliness felt like.

That’s what pushed me to start Her Sunday.

The name is especially close to my heart because, in Urdu, it means “Every Sunday.” It honours my mother tongue while reflecting a simple dream I’ve held onto ever since I moved here: having my girls, my community, and a reason to look forward to every Sunday.

Her Sunday is a community for women who are in the same boat as I am. For women searching for genuine connection. For women yearning for a sense of belonging in a country they appreciate but still can’t quite call home. For women who have lived here for one, five, or even ten and haven’t found their people. If you have come this far then this space is exactly what you need!
